The nasty rust....
Will cut it all out and replace with new steel.

Well I tuned up the motor a while back and it's been on a few missions. The guide here: https://delicaforum.com/index.php?threa ... power.707/ was spot on.

I added EGT and Boost gauges, oh and what the heck a much more accurate VDO temp gauge and new sender.
Also put an in cab BOOST controller which is extremely handy for those extra power moments on demand :D

OK, here it is......

Cut out any rust and welded new plate in.
Went with 2K white on the inside doors, boot, bonnet, etc with a matching and much cleaner Raptor coating to replace the green.
All trim/rubbers and interior removed to ensure complete coverage.

Comes up very nice each time when you use Pro spray guns.

Have gone a bit overboard and decided to overhaul the entire interior. Going with a complete blackout.

Updated the wheels also.

I think it's come up bloody good. Taken it for a spin....I've forgotten how fun it is to drive. Except my knee has had enough of clutch work. Getting to old and need an auto :?

So thought I would have a go at selling this 90"s classic truck. Wow! What an experience. There are some interesting people with interesting perspectives.

Some people thought they would be using it as their daily mall crawler. Yes you can, but don't expect it to drive like a race car or handle like it's on rails.
Some people thought it would be imperfection free and guaranteed not to break. Ah well it's a 32 year offroad truck. Built specifically to handle knarly offroad tracks. Goes pretty much anywhere and just happens to be road legal.

It's sometimes borderline keeping offroad trucks on the road.

Anyway the dreamer who committed to buying it pulled out, so bugger them. I've removed it from sale and will do some more tinkering on it, fix what people perceive to be problems and put it back on the market with an increase in price.

Couple of videos I took for people interested in buying it.....

Right, so a couple of things ticked off today.

The starter motor...bought a brand new one probably 9 months ago and so finally put it in.
Originally you would have to hold the clutch in for the starter to properly engage the ring gear. But now it's immediate engagement, more power and even quieter. Cleaned up all the electrical connections with a bit of sandpaper.

Once all in, give it a coating of soft seal for the terminals and she's nice and secure.

Next up was the leaking seals in the transfer case, where the driveshaft are inserted. Pretty common for them to perish over time, so both replaced and while I'm at it, fresh oil for the transfer, gearbox and diffs. The good news is that from when I changed the diff oil in Sept 2022 till now, it's still nice an clean....MAGIC!

Another job ticked off before I get a new WoF.
Front left wheel bearing a little bit of play. So a rebuild was in order anyway.

So today was WoF day. As with these older offroad trucks, I wasn't expecting a flying pass...Close, but no cigar.

Just some minor things that are related to age and some good old offroad action.

Have ordered all the parts and will throw them in for the WoF man...including a new clutch slave cylinder.

What's the latest....well got a WoF.
Replaced any parts listed on the WoF sheet with new. Including a set of front shocks.

Removed those electronic adjustable ones, for some decent ones.

Still waiting for my clutch slave cylinder. Must ring them, but doesn't bother me.

Since it's officially on the road, thought I would take it for a road trip. If you know Odlins Rd, well you know it was no ordinary road trip.
Had the wife screaming, and the boy and I beaming.
Track has certainly been cut up and rutted out. Stops all the idiots dumping cars in there though. If you zoom in where the big slip is on the side of the ridge, you should see someone's pride and joy stuck to the side.
